1985 900 turbo coupe Rally Car "The Green Machine"

Yanking the N/A motor out

Time to get the beat non-turbo motor out of the rally shell. This was week 6 of Rally Car Hell. At this point we were getting quite loopy, late nights and little sleep made for some interesting moments in the garage:

The sixth or so weekend of straight work on the Saab brings a messy garage.

James gets busy down under.

Can you see James in there? He's breaking the shift linkage free, preparing to pull yet another engine.

Is it going to play nice and come out?

This one comes free from the car much easier than others have.

Now we have TWO complete engines side by side in the garage!

If you look closely in this picture, you can see that there are actually THREE Saab engines!

With the motor out of the way, it's time to start CLEANING!

The completely stripped car is rolled back and ready to go to get the rollcage installed.

Is it me, or is that milk crate buckling a little bit?!?!

Ethan gets live with the MiG welder in the trunk.

Look, he even uses the proper safety goggles!

A closer look...

Watch your eyes!

Here's what I was working on.

Don't ask...
